About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Wow, looks like a great place to go. I don’t blame you for wishing you could move there.

I’ve had some fun times there. I grew up in Beaufort. Is it still called A Place at the Beach III?

  3. alchemist says:

Although they dropped the “III” on the official paperwork in the last few years.

Mom & Dad were one of the early (read : before the 2nd building was built) timeshare owners. We picked up a 2 bedroom timeshare for a SONG a few years ago – and now I take my kids to the place I went to growing up, which is kind of neat.

    Excellent. :)

Beautiful! Where is it exactly – Atlantic Beach? I used to go to Emerald Isle when I was a kid.

  6. alchemist says:

Atlantic Beach 15-20 miles north of Emerald Isle. They are actually on the same barrier island, although AB is directly across the sound from Morehead City.
