ARRGGGHHH

No, I will not help you set up your dialup into the office on a Sunday. Weekends are MY TIME.

MINE MINE MINE.

PLEASE OH PLEASE AT LEAST LET ME HAVE ONE DAY WITHOUT WORK INTRUDING.

(And people wonder why my stress levels are getting out of control).

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

I’m getting quite good at ignoring work related stuff on the weekends unless I want to pay attention to it. Or at least being selective in what I pay attention to. Fedora stuff on the weekends ==> cool, RHEL customer crap ==> not so cool :)

Did they email you or call you? I’m afraid I wouldn’t be very polite if they called.

Sales Reps calling my cel phone number is definately not cool.

At least you aren’t technical support for the least technical group in the company…

  4. alchemist says:

    Called and left a voicemail.

I almost threw my phone when I hear her voice, because I knew what as coming.

I am seriously starting to hate my workplace.

  5. detritus says:

    That is some shit.

    Caller-ID is your friend. :)

  6. katzj says:

Ahh, but this is why I have caller id. People can call as much as they want, that doesn’t mean I answer. This is why I specifically add people to the contacts list of my phone even if I don’t ever plan to call them. Then I know when it’s them calling and thus I shouldn’t answer ;)

Want me to have my sister drop a house on them?

  8. sandypar says:

    UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Was this the ditzy one, the older one, or the pregnant one?

  9. alchemist says:

You got it on the first try. I thought the phrase “moment I heard her voice” would have been the giveaway, really. The other two actually have sense enough to not call on weekends. And, to be honest, the other two have priorities outside of Red Hat.

    Congrats on the house, BTW.

  10. alchemist says:

Tempting, but no. I think that’s illegal in this state.

  11. alchemist says:

It was actually a voicemail. The call came in while I was in the shower.

    Thankfully.

    But still, that’s not cool.
