Bleed Like Me In the Arms of God

So…two new CDs (I shouldn’t have, but, but…) :

Garbage “Bleed Like Me”
oooh, first CD without “Garbage” in the actual title. I think they really have it together on this one. Their first album is still by far my favorite, but this one really shows some musical maturity, and builds on beautifulgarbage nicely. A lot more like the first CD – I think they’ve definately settled into their sound and I hope like hell they plan on touring.

Corrosion of Conformity “In the arms of god”
CoC is a bunch of Raleigh boys who made good in 80’s. This one is quite a bit more “Southern Rock” – although it still feels 80’s metal, if you know what I mean. I hate to say it, but parts feel like they’ve been listening to too much of the sucky new Metallica. But it’s still better than new Metallica….

Overall? Garbage “Bleed Like Me” gets an 8, CoC “In the Arms of God” gets about a 6.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

The CoC/Metallica connection is real, who do you think they’ve been touring with off and on for the last 10 years…
