And now, a quick word

As the elections approach, and I’m looking at the candidates, I pretty much have one conclusion :

I’m fucked.

Doesn’t matter who I vote for, I’m taking it where the sun don’t shine. And you know what? For all the rhetoric, the bitching, the blind faith…you’re all fucked too.

Get out and vote for the lesser of two evils. Vote against the one you hate more. But don’t go in with the nice, starry-eyed vision that on Nov 3 it’ll all be better because your guy won.

It won’t.

But it will be different. Better or worse is determined by historians. And history is written by the winners.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

I just had a similar conversation with my Mother, sans the f-word of course.
She’s in Ohio and is afraid of being intimidated by election challengers. She was even thinking of not voting, but has changed her mind.
