So far so good

Geek Bits: Well, looks like I can post from MultiBlog with few difficulties now. I suppose I will eventually replace the blogger API I’m using to post with the actual LiveJournal XML-RPC API. But in the mean time, this works, so it’s on to the MoveableType testing.

Family Bits: We signed R up for Tiger Cub Scouts last night. He seems excited. I got volunteered (kind of willingly) to be an adult leader, since I’ve got Scouting experience deep in my past. I will be helping mold the minds and values of the future generation (and, hopefully, giving them a positive example of what a REAL Scout is supposed to be like as compared to some parts of the National Leadership, if you know what I mean. Yes, I know many of you oppose their stance on one particular issue, but it’s something that has to be changed from within as opposed to forced on them from without). I think thsi is a good group, and they encourage FAMILY participation, which is also important.

Work Bits: End of quarter aproaches with rapid speed. My two “side” projects are MultiBlog and a Call Status app. Still waiting on the call status app data. Otherwise trying to close a quarter, you know?

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

The thought of you helping to mold the minds and values of a future generation is just frightening.

    Agreed.

Scouting is about raising men, not brainwashing or pushing propaganda. I was lucky enough to have leaders that understood that.. I’ll even rate one of them as just behind my dad in my “male role model” category..

I look forward to continue my career with scouting as soon as I get my other “career” worked out..

    These kind of tiger cubs?

You are scaring me to bits here. I dread the day that Drue comes home and says to me the one word I’ve been fearing since she started school: Brownies.

The only thing worse are the two words that follow: Girl Scouts.

I can handle the SUV. I can handle ballet and soccer. I can occasionally play nice with the capri wearing, manicured mom set. Scouts might push me over the edge into total insanity.

And you are now one of them. FEAR!!! ;)

    Alchemist wears capri’s? Sassy!

    I don’t know… but there is a rumour going around… ;)
