Re:

Went to see Christy again today. Almost perfect – dragon is in the right position, size is good, wings still not quite there, but a rough sketch of a position idea looks to be it. Should have something more final-final on Thursday. Set up appointment for outlines and shadows for next Tuesday. Depending on how long that takes, and if I can settle on the colors by then might just go for a marathon session to get it all done. Depends on what she’s got going that evening as well.

Thinking of colors, I’m flip-flopping on the base colors. Dragon Eyes are bright red. Duh. background will be appropriate colors for the background – orange, grey, whatever. main color on the dragon – I’m thinking Garnet Red or Deep Blue – dark blue but not so much you think it’s black – maybe a dark sapphire color, you know? The gems or balls representing Renee and the boys – those are harder. Renee is pearl, Ray is Ruby, and Jake is Opal. Not that easy to tattoo, you know? I’ve thought of putting their Greek signs in the balls, but that’s not quite right either.

Suggestions welcome, but not necessarily followed. I’m sure I’ll have the right thing by next week, and if I don’t, well, I can always go back for color later.

In any case, it will still be raw for the TriLUG presentation next Thursday (02/12) night, so I won’t be showing it off just yet. But it’s gonna look *SO* bad-ass, I don’t care, and I might show it off anyway.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

If I hang in the parking lot, I won’t be there too late. Considering I still have to be up and ready for work by 7 the next morning….

Although that’d be when I show off the Tat….
