Bank One is a bunch of Sons-a-bitches

So I’m a bit late in aligning everything to electronic payment. Today I’m trying to set up the Bank One online thing so I can pay for the van that way. Not having the correct details, I decide to pay by phone, as a one time thing, while i move the payment to a different system (i.e. maybe time to pay for quicken online)

Bank One only lets you do that if you have a Bank One Checking account. otherwise it’s a $10 fee.

Looking at the other systems, bank One is the only one that does this. Gonna Plonk their asses ASAP.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

if you don’t have an account at Nations Bank and someone writes you a check there, it is a $5 fee to cash it. BS I think…

Sounds like you need to switch to a credit union!
Usually online banking is completely free with credit unions, and everything else is a much better deal.
I’m pretty sure that your employer is a partner with Coastal Federal Credit Union which is the 2nd biggest C.U. in the state (next to State Employees Credit Union, of which I’m a member).

Oh yeah, I’m going to see about moving that loan to my normal back – Coastal Federal Credit union – in the morning. And getting their new online billpay set up.

I’ve been with the CFCU for over a decade – I was just keeping the BankOne loan for the van while the rates there were cheaper! Now I think it’s no longer worth the expense.
