Alltel does, in fact, = evil

So the Kyocera 7135 is PHAT. KI mean, this si the perfect phone, and the one I’ve been waiting for.

I can’t seem to get a digital signal at the house that isn’t roaming. as in “they want a credit card to complete the call” roaming. as in, “can’t receive calls” roaming. As in, My SPRINT phone works, but why is this one picking up Alltel’s crap?

Adding insult to injury, Alltel, who I dislike even more than sprint, offers the same phone, and would be local to the house. I may have to investigate their rate plan. even though they pissed me the hell off one too many times which is why I switched to sprint….

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Alltel = evil. We fought them for 3 YEARS over a bill! We were supposed to have national calling and we got charged an insane amount per minute while Doug was in Atlanta one time and they refused to change it, so we refused to pay it. We still think they suck.

My dad used them once about 5 years ago…here’s how they like to do business:

    1. they threw something extra on the bill that Dad didn’t do or ask for.
    2. Dad calls them, they recognize their “mistake,” they take said charge off the bill.
    3. next month’s bill has the extra charge. again.
    4. repeat #2 and #3

i too, lust after the 7135. i currently own the 6035 and am quite happy, but… gee i’d like it if it were smaller, snazzier and generally more impressive. i’m with sprint now and am not sure where to move from here as they do not offer the 7135 and i don’t want to move to verizon.
