So here it is :

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Oh, and where did you wind up going to get it done?

  3. badger says:

Great looking. Now that you’ve got the tattoo, shop for a bike in the fall when they’re cheapest :).

Blue Flame. Christy did it, and it’s awsome. She was exceptionally cool when I, uh, passed out. More on that later, I’m sure. *grin*

  5. alchemist says:

Yeah, maybe with the winter commission check. Oh, wait, that’s just a downpayment for the classic chopper….

  6. gardenwaltz says:

wow. that looks really cool. i can see why it took so long to get the art done.

  7. alchemist says:

when you look close at it, you see it’s not a perfect fill, and *LOOKS* like the hanko it’s modeled after. My Japanese speaking friend was *VERY* impressed. His wife did the art for me, so I hope she can see it soon-ish.

    Rock on!!!

How did it feel for you…painful, kinda painful, not painful?

  9. alchemist says:

Kinda painful and painful, depending on where she was. The bottom part was kinda painful, and the top *HURT*.

The frame took the most time.

  10. ex_redsonja442 says:

It’s funny how the pain level varies. My right shoulder…nada. Left shoulder, oweeee. Back…first pass, nada. Second…eeeh…so so. Fills and touch ups after that, *scream*

Inside of arm…worst of all! Cried and made squishy faces.

    Any further work/elaborations planned?

    That is a cool tattoo.

  12. alchemist says:

You know there was one point where she’s doing it, and it feels like a pinprick on my neck. Gotta love thos enerve clusters.

As to more work : Still got to recover form this one, and see how it goes.

You know to expect peeling, right? Don’t do anything to hasten the removal of the peeling skin, just keep putting lotion on it. If you pull of the peeling part, it will take ink with it.

I want to get some elaboration done on both my shoulders but I really need to pay down my credit cards some first (or be able to pay in cash.)

  16. deerslayer says:

Oh yeah. Back, over shoulder blade, not too bad. Outside of each arm, not too bad. Inside of right arm, torture! Inside of right arm, very close to armpit, pure, screaming pain!

  17. deerslayer says:

Sandra! Didn’t know you were here…

  18. deerslayer says:

Yep, that rocks! You’ll have to see how many people out in the world can read it before you tell them what it means. It was the funniest thing in the world when the girl who was shaving me for my surgery looks at my arm, then at me, then says “You don’t look that wicked.” I about fell over laughing ;-)

  19. alchemist says:

Oh yeah, she warned me about that. I hope that I can keep it moist enough to limit the peeling, but I know it’ll happen.

  20. alchemist says:

Yeah, that’s my fault, I think. *grin*

  21. alchemist says:

    hahahaha! That’s great.

And obviously, she doesn’t know you that well :)

  22. maxdwolf says:

Think she could straighten that for you? ;)

Yep, alchemist gave me a code so that I could play. :-) I don’t post often but I do read a lot. I am adding you to my list of Friends. Is that alright?
