Went to Asuka with the ever popular . Donna is fast becoming my favorite sushi buddy. She doesn’t make a spectacle of me when I eat something out-of-the ordinary, and always provides a friendly ear when I need one.

Although I have got to learn to control myself on the a-la carte menus.

Work was the usual…slow in the morning, picking up after about 2pm. a little slack-off at 3:30 or so, then a pickup after 5. Last day of the quarter is tomorrow. It’ll either be dead for me, or crazy.

I scratched my Ayumi Hamasaki “Ballads” CD in the parking lot yesterday. Which sucks, since nobody local will have a replacement. *sigh* Maybe one of the good CDROMs I have around the house will be able to rip it to MP3 or Ogg-Vorbis, and then re-encode it to CD Audio. Either that or I need to just order a new copy. And while I’m at it, maybe one or two of her other CDs. Ayumi is just such a great vocalist. Too bad I don’t understand Japanese, because it’d probably be even better if I knew what she was saying. Maybe I should let translate for me as practice *grin*

Well, time for Family Guy. Wrong on so manly levels…..

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

fyi to everyone who reads Sonney’s lj: I can’t interpret Japanese worth a flip. I tried listening to her songs before (and to an interview with Ayumi-san), but could only pick up like 12% of what they were saying. Not even enough to guess what sentences meant!

Where is Asuka? I’ve only been to Sushi Blues and Waraji(sp?).

It’s *REALLY* close to your office.

Take Airport to 54. Turn left. Take the first left (I think) and go into the strip mall on the left. It’ll have Asuka, a Italian place, and what looked like and insurance place.

I’ve been to almost all the sushi places near RHAT now.

Kashin and Sushi Tsune are still my favorites. Asuka next, Waraji, then Asahi, Sushi Blues, and Cary Tokyo House, with Kanki dead last.
