The Other post

So by Monday I had had enough. Work went great, but came home to a mess, and the kids being overactive, and Renee just doing her online thing like normal. Argh.

So when she came to bed arround 11:45, I told her how it was. That, quite honestly, it was out of control, and if she couldn’t control it, I would. And that the DSL would be cut off. End of story. And I did it calmly, without yelling.

Of course, that’s got a whole host of issue associated with it, like having to move my domains and shit somewhere else, and all that stuff. But I’ll do what I have to do.

And she didn’t have much to say. I think I finally started to get the point across that her behavior was unacceptable – that I saw her as two people, the woman I love, and some obsessed Internet addict. And I emphasized that I wanted to help, and would prefer not to take drastic action. And that I loved her, and I was going to do whatever it took to help, drastic or not.

So yesterday she says that she’s only going to play for certain hours. Which is not what she needs to do, but it’s a start. She was much more herself yesterday, but we also spent all evening away from home and computers. So we’ll see how it goes.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Interesting. Today I told Dante that if he will not do his share of the dishes, then he needs to use only disposable plates, cups, and utensils, and throw them away when done. I am not the fucking maid!!!!!
