specs, sed, stars, shopping, and soup

Spent the morning on and off poking at a spec file that needs some fine tuning. mostly to fix the perl library install paths for the application in question (irssi). Started to (finally) learn about sed, which shoudl allow me to do what i need to do once I grok it.

The off to the ‘Canes vs. Stars Game. Boo-ya. Sure, they play like ass against Atlanta, but when it counts, they play like the team they are. 1-0 ‘Canes, against the number 2 Team in the country.

I think the cameraman finally caught a close up of her loveliness Queen Donna this time. or someone with a *VERY* similar face.

Got about half the xmas dinner shopping done on the way home – still have to get the goose and a lot of the brine seasonings. Came home, had generic soups for dinner, and shortly will go back to testing the sed changes in the irssi spec file I’m poking at.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

I’m definitely in the “non-grok and edit an existing recipe” stage on sed myself. without the O’Reilly book I’d be in more difficulty.

Hey, I’m in the area now, at Jenn’s house. I need to catch a shower but for all intents and purposes, I have time to come out or over or whatever to meet you, jewelry in hand. I’ve got your phone number so I’ll give youi a call in a bit. You’ll have to give me directions to wherever to meet you. Second option I guess is for you to come by here after work. I don’t pick up my bro at the airport until 8:40 so I’ll be around for awhile. Jenn gets back around 3:30 or so. Your call, let me know by reponding to this post.

Call the cel – I’ll be in a lunch meeting at noon, and I have *NO* idea when I’ll be leaving here. Directions to RH HQ are at http://www.redhat.com/about/corporate/wwoffices/map_hq.html if you want the grand tour and all.

Or we can hook up on your swing through after the holiday, since I’ve not got time this week to drive to Morrisville (much as I’d like to see Jenn today, there’s still lots of crap left to do for the family stuffs on Weds at my house…)

Well if you don’t mind and you were not hoping for a Xmas present, lets put it off until later in the week when I return and I’ll give you a call then. Likely I’ll have mroe time as well then. Have a good if not busy day!

That should work out better, as it’s not really an Xmas present – it’s a “just because” present. *grin*
