Got the offer. maybe a little less money than I had hoped for, but the bonuses should more than make up for it.

Paperwork should be here tomorrow.

I’m going to work at Red Hat. I’m going to work with and and and Bascha and Malaclypse and lots and lots of cool people.

I’m bouncing. I’ll miss some of the wZ perks (work when you like, company laptop, extra casual environment), but it’ll be nice to work for a company that actually makes enough money to write paychecks on time. And has real benefits. And bonuses.

And the internal build trees to play with *grin*

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Now you can play with all the broken
versions of up2date, instead of just
    the ones that escape ;->

Oh, I was planing on visiting your desk early on and raiding the music collection – unless you decide to set up an internal icecast server…. *grin*

of course, personally, i think you’re insane ;) …but it’s got to better than what you’ve been having to deal with…

I’m going in reverse order trying to see where I missed all this… congrats again.

If you see Billy Marshall, Charles Coleman, Jay Madison, Smooge, Andrew, or hell… most anyone left there… tell him Jay Cuthrell sends his regards.

I’m jealous that you commute less than 5 miles from my house. I’m doing the I-40 thing. *shrug*

  12. alchemist says:

I had a busy two weeks *grin*. No worries.

Smooge, from the last email I saw with his name on it, ain’t there any more. Although I’ll keep my eyes open for the rest. As long as you give some respect to Jason Fisher (and any other Utenzi refugees that are over there) for me next time you see the man.

Oh, and I get to commute from Pittsboro, which, while not the 40 madness, is a nice drive. Not that NeoNova is any less distance for me, but….

  13. alchemist says:

Extra late follow-up. Smooge says “Hi” and that he’s possibly gonna be planning an East Coast trip later this year.

Billy is now basically in charge of Enterprise Sales. He’s good. Very, very good. I may finally have a chance to pass on your greets when I talk to him next. I may actually work for him, but let me tell you, figureing out more than my direct reports-to is a bit of a mess in this joint *grin*
