I could have sworn that was Rod Brind’amore going into BJ’s as I was exiting. Of course, I was carrying a case of Pampers, and a case of wipes, and it’s just impolite to stop someone and say “Aren’t you..” when they’re trying to get in and out as quickly as possible, just like you. I mean, if it were a bar or a club, that’s one thing, but BJ’s is nto the place.

If that was him, he’s *HUGE* in person. I mean, damn. But I expect he and the rest of the boys are in Detroit by now….

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

Chances are that it WAS Rod after all. I just talked to Nik, and he said they have early practice this morning and don’t fly out to Detroit until 1 PM. That would have given Rod a normal Sunday to run errands and be a family man, something he likely hasn’t had in months and months.

    So, he’s, like, HUGE?

He’s like, a good head taller than I am. And *REALLY* broad across the shoulders. They all look about the same in the padding, and extra tall on skates, but *DAMN* he’s tall.

The *ONLY* reason I recognized him was because they showed a pre-game shot of him chillin’ on the bench out of uniform in Toronto. Otherwise I’m only used to seeing him with his mouth-guard in. *grin*

I saw that, where he was sitting on the bench, getting his mental game together. That was cool, because it isn’t often you get to see that kind of thing. He seemed so serious, and boyish, in his t-shirt.
