I am holding my Stanly Cup Playoff commemorative tickets in my hand.
They’re huge.
They’re basically a picture of the cup with my seat numbers on it.
Holy shit, this is real.
I’m really going to see the Stanly Cup finals.
Really, really gonna see the finals.
I may even be present when they had out the cup.

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.

    Great to be you :)

    (I’m a hockey fan too, but I’m afraid it’s for Detroit…)

Just wondering where you got your ID from (The Alchemist)? Cos it’s one of my favorite books, and symbols, and all that crap.

I’ve been using it pretty consistantly for the past 12 or so years (gods, it’s been >10 years now). it started ’cause back in ’90 my roommate had the BBS “Merlin’s Cave” and it made sense for “The Alchemist” to be the #2 account, right? The name stuck, and here we are.

Of course, I’ve only just now read Stephenson’s “The Diamond Age” and I like the association *grin*. I also read theis horrid 80’s paperback romance titled “The Alchemist.” Do yourself a favor – ignore that one *grin*.

And I’m cool with Wings fans. Even if a lot of them assume it’s over in game 3. Tomorrow night wil be the real teller, to me….

Yeah, I try to stay away from the romance novels ;)

I will admit, going into the series I was one of those people who thought “We beat the Avs, it’s all easy from here.” But I think everyone can see now that it will be a close series. And I’ve heard a lot of fans over here (and I agree) say that if they lost to someone, they’d want it to be the Canes. I guess we’ll just have to watch and see :)
