So I’ve been working on this project for several months, and have butt heads with one of the other developers fairly regularly on How Things Should Be Done.
And yesterday was no exception. So we cleared the air a little, I agree to look over some code, and 6 hours later he’s checking in the beginnings of a rewrite of the affected section, using the code he showed me earlier.
I see.
In other words, he’s going to do it the way he wants to, and the hours I spent writing that code were wasted.
Now I expect to be part of round two. I’ll do my job, to the bets of my abilities, but *NOW* I have a bad feeling about what’s going to happen when this project is over with. And my future with the company.
Let’s hope I’m wrong. Maybe there’s a client job waiting. Maybe I’ll have work on something other than this product.
Maybe I should update my resume just in case….
Try not to be too fatalistic. Worry only makes things worse. But, having an updated resume is always a good thing – no matter what happens in the future.
