OK, I admit it.

Put simply, I like porn.

I mean, it’s not like I spend a percentage of every day watching porn, but I enjoy it, and have been known to go out of my way to find porn – or at least find that one movie that interests me enough to want to buy it.

So when I do go out of my way to *PAY* for porn, I expect to get a good return on my investment. And, in my minor-league obsessive compulsive way, when I want something, I’ll go to ridiculous lengths to find what I’m after. (Example – I wanted a copy of “Escape” a.k.a. The “Pina Collada Song” from 1979. Not content to special order the only collection in print that had it, I searched every record store I knew of in Raleigh, as well as calling around the local area looking for it before I broke down & ordered it)

And it’s not like I can just pop down to the video store, rent any old thing off the shelf, and enjoy it. I’m one of the really weird ones that prefers porn with a plot – where the actors have some rudimentary skills in acting above faking orgasms. Hot sex helps, but it’s about the experience. a good script with mediocre sex is better than a bad script with yet another double anal penetration.

So here I am, watching my java code crash (OK, not my code, but it’s causing my apache test bed to crash, and that’s not happy), rebuilding XWindows, and generally twiddling my thumbs because my CPU utilization is about 99%.

And so I’m wondering where I can find a somewhat local porn store with a good DVD selection. Let’s be honest – Priscilla’s sucks, Pegasus has anything you could want if you want VHS, and Castle is where you go for accessories, and not videos.

Specifically, I’m looking for the new, quality DVDs – Search for the “Snow Leopard,” “Dream Quest,” “The Gate” – stuff with a budget bigger than my mortgage, and not another video with all the production values of a clip on America’s Funniest Home Videos.

(Sure, I can order online, but it’s not the same. And anyway, if I want to surprise Mrs. A with a little after-hours video I can’t have it showing up on our door step – especially now that she’s staying home with little man now.)

About Kevin Sonney

Kevin Sonney - who, contrary to popular opinion was NOT raised by wolves - grew up in central North Carolina. He fell into the technology field by accident in 1991, when he gave up the wild and crazy lifestyle of an on-air AM radio DJ to become a mundane technical support monkey. The technology industry has never really recovered from this. Kevin has worked for such names as IBM, Red Hat, webslingerZ, and Lulu Technologies (we won't mention the ones that didn't survive the experience). He currently works as a Linux Administrator for Apptio. In his spare time he rescues stray animals and plays video games with his two sons. His wife, we're sad to say, helps him get past the really hard bits. Kevin is still not very mundane, he just got better at hiding it.
