The zoo was mostly fun, but tiring. Ray had a blast, and didn’t want to come home – I think that’s mostly because by the end we were 3 hours past nap time, and he had gone through tired, past over-tired, into hyper-cranky – he was doing everything he could to stay awake, most of it behavior we find inapropriate in public.
And since I refuse to be one of “those” parents (you know the ones – the child is mis-behaving, and the parents’ only response is “he’s just acting out – it’s only natural” – you know , the parents that make the childless who hate kids hate kids even more. And I have a rant stored up about that …), we skipped the last few exhibits (everything between the polar bears and the North American gate), and dragged him out to the car.
He was asleep before we left the parking lot, and didn’t wake up until we rolled into the driveway. *grin*
After that, a fairly uneventful night. Renee was out by 9:45, and I was out by 10.
And now, to do some work.
